General Policy
I cannot commit to review every book which is sent to me, but I will get back to everyone who contacts me to let them know if I will accept their book or not. If I cannot finish the book I will not post a review. All reviews will be fair and honest, I will point out what I loved or weak points in the story.The speed at which I publish your review depends on how much time I have available. This is a hobby and (un)fortunately my family loves me and wants to spend time with me, so I can't read as much as I would like. I will post as frequently as my life allows.
I mostly review books that I have purchased or have gotten through the library, Kindle Unlimited, and NetGalley. I always indicate how I obtained the book at the beginning of each review.
I NEVER sell galley or ARC copies, and will always contact an author for permission before donating a my copy to a local family shelter.

What I like to read
I really do enjoy just about everything. I can quickly tell if a book is something I just won't be able to get into (like self help, non romance westerns, or tech), but just give me a try.I am always looking for K-12 non-fiction! Not just for my library but for blog readers with children who just don't like fiction.
I typically read:
- Fantasy
- Science Fiction
- YA
- Middle Grades
- Picture Books
- Graphic Novels and Manga
- Urban Fantasy
- Paranormal Romance
- Cook Books! I will even try out the recipes and Instagram them! (Do you have anything for a busy mom with a wonderful husband who can only make tacos or order pizza?)
I also read:
- Cozy Mysteries
- Dystopian
- Thriller/Suspense
- Horror (only for October reviews. I have an over active imagination and my husband hates how jumpy I get after a scary book.)
- Historical Fiction
- Hi Interest / Low Level (very specific and difficult niche, but so many schools and families need this)
- Literary Fiction
- Non-Fiction
- Science non-fiction (like The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks or Invincible Microbe)
- Art History
- Historical Non-Fiction (K-12 level I can read in a heart beat, Adult level generally takes time and I'll have to review my schedule before accepting.)
- LGBTQ
Seriously, I like just about everything.

What I cover in my reviews
I look at the quality of the plot, the characters, the language used, etc. I do try to differentiate between what doesn't work me, personally as a reader, and what simply doesn't work at all. As a librarian I am accustomed to reading for others and many times I can tell that a book that didn't work for me but might work for another type of reader. I will make mention of it if this is the case.I use a rating scale of 0-6.

Formats
I accept print or e-book format. For e-books, Kindle compatible is preferred, but e-pub will work as well.Again, I cannot commit to reading every book that is sent to me, but I will let you know if I will review it or not.
